  • Workshop for Co-op Curious Lawyers, 05/16

    Join the Villanova Law Clinic for Law and Entrepreneurship and the Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance virtually on Thursday, May 16, for "Workshop for Co-op Curious Lawyers: Legally Supporting Worker Co-ops." This event will examine the legal considerations for lawyers in supporting the two main forms of worker co-ops, LLCs and cooperative corporations, and offer attendees 1.5 CLE credits.

  • Class of 2024 Commencement, 05/18

    The Villanova Law class of 2024 commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 10:00 a.m. on the Rowen Campus Green (weather permitting). A celebratory reception will follow.

  • Testing Justice: Drug Testing and Community Supervision, 05/22

    In an effort to address and shape public conversations about criminal justice, drug policy and enforcement, the Girard-diCarlo Center will host a discussion on Wednesday, May 22 at Villanova Law. “Testing Justice: Drug Testing and Community Supervision” is a continuation of the conversations held at the convening in November 2023, a recent article published in the Federal Sentencing Reporter and the policies and laws surrounding drug enforcement in Pennsylvania.

  • Second Annual State and Local Tax Forum, 06/06

    The Second Annual State and Local Tax (SALT) Forum hosted by the Villanova University Graduate Tax Program will provide a venue for honest and respectful discussion of the most pertinent SALT issues of the day. This year's topic is "State Taxation of a Digital Economy," which will answer critical questions of what is taxable in the digital economy, which states can tax (and how much of) it, what legislators can do to reduce uncertainty and how judges might rule on these issues.

  • Villanova Law Students Visit Supreme Court

    This spring, Villanova Law students visited the Supreme Court of the United States on a trip for the Law and Religion course. At the Court, students had the opportunity to meet with Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. and visited the courtroom for a lecture by a member of the curator’s office. The students also visited the law firm Jones Day and met with Noel Francisco, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Washington office and former solicitor general of the United States.

    The Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law is pleased to celebrate the graduates of the Class of 2024.   • Judge Alison J. Nathan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to Deliver Villanova Law’s 2024 Commencement Address

    Mark C. Alexander, The Arthur J. Kania Dean of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, announced that Judge Alison J. Nathan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will deliver the commencement address to the Class of 2024. She will also receive the Villanova Law Medallion Award in recognition of her achievements at this year’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18.

  • Tax Litigation Training Provides Practical Experience, Culminates in Mock Trial

    This spring, the Villanova University Graduate Tax Program offered its five-week virtual Tax Litigation Training program for the first time since 2019. The program, which offers tax practitioners critical insight into the litigation process, culminated with a two-day in-person tax litigation mock trial event at Villanova Law on March 22 and 23.
